Č la seconda statua che appare in processione,
dopo quella di Gesų nell'orto. L'artista ha voluto raffigurare
Gesų frustato, percosso, legato all'anello della colonna del
Pretorio, nella sobria nudità della corporatura, avvolto
solo dalla fascia sul cingolo osseo. Nel volto di Gesų appare
un'espressione piuttosto rassegnata, nel torso si osserva
un realismo minuzioso che evidenzia una conoscenza anatomica
pių evoluta rispetto all'arte del Quattrocento; dettagli,
questi, che assieme ad altri, conferiscono alla statua un
elevato pregio artistico.

It is the second statue that appears in procession,
after that of Jesus in the garden. The artist wanted to represent
Jesus whipped, hit, tied to the ring of the column of Praetorium,
in the sober nakedness of the build, only wrapped by a band
on the bony crawler . In Jesus's face a rather resigned expression
appears, in the trunk we can observe a meticulous realism
that points out a more developed anatomical knowledge in comparison
with the art of the 1400's; these are details that together
with others, confer a high artistic value to the statue.
